We are excited to announce that, due to our continued growth and expansion plans, we have acquired a new headquarters. We were delighted when the building became available and jumped at the chance to make our mark.

The new office, which is a short drive from our previous base in Wildmoor, will allow us to grow the team further and enable us to better serve our customers.

Sophie Clarke, Caltec C.O.O., said: ”The expansion is an opportunity for us to build on our Core Values of Collaboration and Efficiency, as the office team will come together on one floor where they can increase collaboration, and the site team will have a better organised space to store equipment and materials so that works can be well planned ahead of time.”

We are proud to announce we have been named as a finalist at the highly acclaimed 2022 CN Workforce awards.

We are in the running for the Best Place to Work – Contractor category which champions the outstanding achievements of those making the construction industry and its organisations a great place to work.

The competition for the category is stiff and Calztec is competing against: Farrans Construction, Jarvis Contracting, Kier Group, Novus Property Solutions and Readie Construction.

The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony on Tuesday 8 November at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Over 400 dignitaries will be in attendance.

We are delighted to announce that Giavanni Edwards has joined the team as a full-time Project Assistant, having completed his 6-month Kickstart internship.

The Kickstart Scheme was a programme launched by the UK government to provide funding to create new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

During his 6-month internship, Giavanni has embraced the opportunity presented to him by the scheme, learning new skills, gaining valuable experience, and working hard to secure full-time employment.

We are passionate about nurturing young people and providing them with an opportunity to fulfil their potential. We are celebrating after landing an internationally recognised award for demonstrating high health and safety standards.

We received a RoSPA Silver Health and Safety Award for working hard to ensure our staff, clients and contractors get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants compete to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.

Design, fit out and refurbishment specialist, Calztec, has pledged its ongoing commitment to health and safety, environmental and quality management, diversity, and equality through the upgrade of its Constructionline membership to the gold standard.

Calztec first secured Constructionline accreditation in 2017, but recently achieved the gold award, proving it meets PAS 91 and the Common Assessment standards.

In order to obtain gold membership, its management systems were subjected to increased scrutiny and were required to demonstrate an exceptional level of competence across all areas of the business.

Calztec continues its commitment to the health and safety of its clients, employees and supply chain and have continued to exceed the requirements to retain its accreditations for CHAS and Alcumus SafeContractor.

CHAS and Alcumus are leading independent accreditation schemes that recognise extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management.

Design, fit out and refurbishment specialist, Calztec, is proud to announce it has secured two new projects with Powell Williams and Gerald Eve.

Project One

Gerald Eve awarded Calztec the dilapidations repair, reinstatement and improvement works across 105,819 sq. ft. of Unit One in Winsford. This project consists of demolition of a four-storey mezzanine floor and racking system. Also included in the package is cut edge corrosion and recoating of the roof, replacement of roof lights, full internal and external cleaning of the building, upgraded HVAC and electrical, and decoration throughout.

We will also be installing new solar panels to the roof area and car charging points, which is an exciting addition as it falls in line with one of our core values – Environmental Consideration.

Project Two

Calztec is also pleased to be appointed to this strip out and refurbishment project at Unit A1c, Gallagher Retail Park, Bristol by new client Powell Williams. The works include new utility connections, trench excavations, strip out of existing fit out and new drainage.

Sam Jarvis, Calztec Estimator, said: “We are delighted to partner with two of the industries’ respected building and project consultancy businesses. Our strategy is based on building long-term relationships with our clients, and we look forward to establishing ourselves as a leading contractor with Gerald Eve and Powell Williams.”

The team has now completed the CAT A transformation of the grade II listed Christchurch House located in Birmingham’s central business district, fronting Victoria Square.
The works consisted of:

Strip out of the existing office space
Decoration throughout
New suspended ceilings
Lighting and CCTV
An overhaul of the ventilation system
Bathroom upgrades
Shower facilities
Installation of period features and fittings

We are excited to announce that Calztec has been named SME of the Year at the 2022 West Midlands Constructing Excellence awards.

The fit out and refurbishment specialist won the award for demonstrating business change across all areas of the company, including: investment made in employees, supply chain engagement, adopting best practise and improving customer satisfaction.

The awards took place at a black-tie event at Edgbaston Cricket Club and saw over 500 business leaders come together to celebrate construction in the West Midlands.

Calztec CEO, James Haslam, has been shortlisted as a regional finalist for the 2022 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Midlands and South West awards.

The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme was established more than 30 years ago and is one of the most distinguished business awards for entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies. James was selected by an independent panel of judges most of whom have previously participated in the awards programme.

James Haslam, Calztec C.E.O., said: “I am honoured to be a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 Midlands and South West awards. As a business leader, a lot of effort is placed into developing and delivering our business strategy to ensure we are successful.
