West Midlands sector forecast 2021-2025

Do you want to find out what the next 4-years will bring for the West Midlands construction sector? Experian, in association with CITB, has released its latest Construction Skills Network – West Midlands 2021–2025 and we think the highlights for the region are encouraging.

  • Construction output in the West Midlands is predicted to increase by 4.8% per annum.
  • The main driving force behind the growth is private housing and infrastructure.
  • HS2 works and the West Midlands Metro expansion are key infrastructure projects.
  • Alexander Stadium redevelopment and Perry Barr regeneration (Former Games Village) are the public non-housing sector big hitters.
  • Public housing and the repairs and maintenance sectors are also contributors to the gain.
  • 25,000 new workers will be required to keep pace with the increase.

For the last 7 years, we have supported the West Midlands region refurbishing a range of commercial and industrial buildings. Our key projects include:

Ravensbank Business Park, Redditch

We were appointed as principal contractor to carry out design and refurbishment works. Our client wanted to refurbish the building to provide a high-quality business unit for a new client totalling 60,000 sq. ft.

11 Brindley Place, Birmingham

In the busy area of Brindley Place, we worked across multiple shared floors to create segregated offices and meeting spaces, without disturbing the existing tenants of the building.

Bescot Point, Walsall

Our client wished to refurbish two vacant industrial units to a high standard to prepare for new clients to move in. The works included the refurbishment of offices, WC’s, warehouse and car parks as well as external cladding and entrance repairs.
