According to Savills’ Big Shed Briefing 2021: West Midlands, the take-up of industrial and logistics space in 2020 hit an all-time high following two years of under-performance.
We’ve taken a look and the article highlights for the West Midlands are:
- Supply of warehouse space in 2020 decreased by 9% compared to 2019 standing at 6.54m sq. ft over 36 units.
- Take-up reached 6.61m sq. ft, 65% up on the previous year.
- There is currently 808,924 sq. ft. of logistics space under construction across the West Midlands.
- Demand for larger units within the 300,000 sq. ft plus band is on the rise.
- 36% of available stock is considered Grade A quality.
- Online retailers accounted for 29% of take-up.
