We are pleased to offer a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate to work for a Principle Contractor in the commercial sector. As our company continues to grow, we are excited to invest in a strong candidate who is looking for a long term opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.

To be considered as a candidate we expect you to have attained a degree in a Building Discipline (examples include Building Surveying, Project Manager, Quantity Surveying) and have ambition to peruse a career in the construction industry, particularly in the commercial sector.

You will be joining a young and supportive company that will develop your skillset and offer wide experience on different projects as well as personal development opportunities. We have created a graduate programme that allows the candidate to learn about all aspects of our business, from project management, to site management to estimating and designing, this role will be tailored around you.

Our projects cover industrial and commercial refurbishments and fit outs across the West Midlands and range from small refurbs from £20,000 to large scale fit outs of £2,000,000, meaning your job will be varied and interesting.

Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with our Estimators to learn how tenders are priced and helping to complete tender submissions
  • Being assigned your own tenders to collate, create, submit and follow up.
  • Working closely with our Project Managers to learn how projects are ran effectively and assisting in the managing and delivery of projects.
  • Being given your own projects to manage from pre site attendance to completion and handover
  • Working on Project Plans and schedules
  • Attending on site meetings to collaborate with Site Managers and Clients
  • Negotiating contracts with external vendors
  • Assisting in implementing Health and Safety Procedures alongside the Site Managers
  • Successfully utilise Calztec internal Project Management Document to understand the expected financial margins and work to improve them.
  • Prepare and build O&M manuals to issue to clients at Project Completion.

Requirements

  • A Degree in a building discipline
  • Experience with CAD (preferable)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • A keen interest in developing a career in Project Management
  • A reasonable technical ability relating to construction
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent organisational skills
